Nurmi Hydraulics Oy has established a joint venture company by name Dalian Nurmi Hydraulics Co., Ltd:n in China. The production of the first phase has started in the autumn 2006. Now the operations will be expanded jointly in the second phase together with the Finnish, Japanese and Chinese partners. The expanded production will start in the spring 2007.

Asia is the most rapid growing market area for Nurmi in the near future. This company has been established to satisfy the needs and expectations of our central, multinational customers who also have their operations in Asia. The factory is situated in the developing, northeast district of China.

Dalian is a harbour city between Beijing and Korean peninsula, where is located plenty of international industry, and it is a growing shipbuilding industry concentration. This makes it possible to establish a network between local collaboration partners and sub-suppliers. The logistical connections are favourable everywhere into the Asia. Asia will be the main market area for the company, but the products can be exported elsewhere into the world, also Nurmi's global clients need both European and Asian Manufacturing. Now they can have all from single source and still keep the important product knowledge.

Nurmi brand (trade mark just recently registered) is well known in cylinder business and therefore we will make sure that quality, working safety and environmental issues are kept on a Scandinavian level also in Chinese manufacturing.

The capacity of the enlarged factory will be over 20.000 hydraulic cylinders per year (year 2008) depending on the size and type of the cylinders. In this phase the cylinders will be delivered mainly into the end products of the so-called logistics cluster. The total area of the factory will be 3000-sq.mtr.
